Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized a training of Trainers on Election Monitoring in Tunisia

In the frame of its project on Election Monitoring as part of its contribution to enhance capacities of civil society actors in the election process, Al Kawakibi Center organized a training of Trainers on election monitoring during the period of 25-30 July 2011 in Sousse.

The training saw the participation of a number of actors from the Tunisian civil society and lawyers members of associations interested within election monitoring.

Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized a technical workshop on The work of Independent Election Management Bodies (EMB) in the Arab Region

In the framework of the process of democratic transition witnessed by Tunisia since the revolution, Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center tried to keep up with the various stages of transition especially the issue of elections by participating in enhancing capacities of actors in the election process.

Seminar on Electoral Litigation in Tunisia

Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center and Democracy Reporting International organized a Seminar on « Electoral Litigation in Tunisia » on May 21st 2011 in Tunis.

The Seminar was attended Tunisian lawyers and judges, and a number of Tunisian, Arab and European experts in the field of electoral litigation. The Seminar represented the first opportunity to address issues and problems related to different electoral litigation.

Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized a workshop on « Forthcoming elections in Tunisia: Political process, laws and Monitoring Mechanisms »

 "The forthcoming elections in Tunisia: the political process, laws and oversight mechanisms" was the subject of the workshop organized  by Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center in collaboration with the Citizenship Center for Developping Democratic Processes  on March 3 and 4, 2011 in Tunis. 

Workshop on “Experiences and Best practices on Elections in the Arab Region”

Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Centre (KADEM) in partnership with the Arab Center for Democratic Development organized a training workshop on “Experiences and Best practices on Elections in the Arab Region” in Amman, Jordan on December 18-23, 2010 with the participation of 12 lawyers, political candidates, civil society representatives and activist from Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia with the moderation of Dr. Taleb Awad, expert in elections, and Dr. Iyad AbuMoghli, UNDP Expert on knowledge management.

Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized a conference on « Perspectives of Election Reform in Jordan »

In the framework of it’s project on Election Monitoring in the Arab Region, and as a follow up of the Elections in Jordan (held on December 2010), Al Kawakibi Center in partnership with Adallah Center for Human Rights Studies organized a Conference on « Perspectives of Elction Reform in Jordan » on December 22nd, 2010 in Amman, Jordan.

The conference was attended by more than 40 participants including government and civil society representatives and journalists.

Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized a Conference on “Priorities of Reform in the Islamic World” in partnership with the Turkish Arab Association

In the framework of Al Kawakibi Center’s project on The Arab- Iranian Dialogue, a conference was organized with the partnership of the Turkish Arab Association on December 1st and 2nd, 2010 in Istanbul.

The conference was attended by an elite from the Iranian and the Arab Region Intellectuals and politicians in order to study and discuss the problematic relation between the concept of Democratic Reform, its mechanisms from the Arab and Iranian perspectives.

Election Monitoring in Jordan: Activities of Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center

On an initiative from Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center and in partnership with the Jordanian Women Union a series of activities took place in Amman from November 1st to 10th, 2010. All these activities dealt with Election Monitoring in Jordan.

Election Monitoring in Bahrain: Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized a number of activities

In the framework of Al Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center project on Election Monitoring in the Arab Region, the Center coordinated with the Bahrain Transparency Society in order to implement a number of conferences and training sessions all related to election process in Bahrain, and that during the period between October 12 to 1, 2010. 

KADEM is a technical, non-governmental regional organization specialized in knowledge transfer, expertise-sharing and capacity-building in the field of democratic transition.  It is founded on the principle of partnership among organizations and experts across the Arab region and beyond.KADEM was set up in Amman, Jordan, in June 2006. Following the Revolution in Tunisia, KADEM was registered in July 2011 as an association subject to Tunisian law.

KADEM seeks to enhance the contribution of Arab civil societies to democratic transition processes, thereby strengthening the foundations of national sovereignty, and promoting good governance based on social justice, economic development, gender equality, and broad popular participation in decision-making, as well as on the principles of rule of law, transparency, protection of human rights and individual/public freedoms, and peaceful alternation of power.
