In cooperation with the General Administration of Human Rights at the Ministry of Interior, Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized a training workshop on “Security work and human rights” for agents and employees of the General Administration for Human Rights, held on December 16, 2019 at the Gulden-Tulip Mechtal Hotel, Tunis.
During this workshop, 3 main axes were adressed, namely human rights sources, systems and standards of human rights in law enforcement operations; civil police in a democratic context, rules of conduct; rule of law; and oversight of the commitment to respect and protect human rights. Within this framework, many issues related to security work and human rights were tackled, such as the role of security forces in protecting human rights, police and security forces duties in law enforcement, human rights and security, non-discrimination, and the rights of police and security personnel.
This workshop was moderated by Dr. Haikel ben Mahfoudh, a doctor in constitutional law and expert in the field of security and defense.
