With the support of Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center, a meeting was held on February 12, 2020, between Mr.Yousef Bouzakhir, President of the Supreme Judicial Council, along with representatives of the Council and, heads and representatives of the following independent public bodies:
- The Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA)
- The National Authority for Access to Information (INAI),
- The Higher Committee on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (CSDHLF)
- the Anti-Corruption Instance (INLUCC)
- the National Authority for the Prevention of Torture (INPT)
- the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE)
- National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (INAI)
- The National Commission for the fight against human trafficking
The meeting represented an opportunity to consolidate the relationship between the Supreme Judicial Council and the independent public bodies, to exchange ideas and proposals for further coordination and cooperation in order to uphold the judicial and human rights systems in Tunisia. Thus, to overcome common challenges in order to support the democratic transition and to preserve rights and freedoms.
