Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center, jointly with the Audit Court and the National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT), organized a workshop on “the findings of the Court of Audit’s oversight of the funding of the 2019 premature presidential elections, the legislative elections and the political parties’ finances” on December 12 and 13, 2020.
Ms. Fadhila Gargouri, a judge and head of department at the Audit Court, Mr. Mohamed Jelassi, head of the SNJT and Mr. Amine Ghali, Director of Al-Kawakibi Democracy transition Center, opened the workshop addressed to fourteen journalists from different visual, written and audio, public and private media outlets and from different regions.
The workshop represented an opportunity to build the capacities of journalists in the Audit Court’s field of work on elections monitoring and to improve relations between journalists and the Audit Court through identifying the Court’s mechanisms and drafting its reports.
The two-day workshop combined presentations about the Audit Court’s different mechanisms, structure and objectives as well as its published reports with exercises for the groups in order to strengthen media coverage of the Court’s reports.
