In partnership with the United States Institute of Peace USIP, and in cooperation with the municipality of Ariana, Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized a dialogue session held on February 22, 2020, with the participation of local civil society organizations, board members of the municipal council of Ariana and in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior.
During this meeting, the organizers conducted a presentation on Security and Justice Dialogue project. Added to that, they tackled the methodological and technical perceptionof Kawakibi Center on this project.
In the same context, the attendees raised several questions to understand the project and its importance to the region. Thus, there was an emphasis put on the Ministry of interior’s cooperation to realize success of the pilot experiment in the governorate of Ariana, as it is the first experiment of its kind conducted outside the scope of the ministry’s intervention in the community-police program.
Furthermore, the dialogue session was an opportunity to shed the light on several security challenges in the region, in addition to civil society’s perception of the way through which the dialogue will be included.
