As part of its work on supporting civil society, Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center participated in “Majalat Forum” held on December, 2-3 2019 in Brussels, Belgium, seeking to reach out for a dialogue between the European Union, civil society organizations, international unions, social movements, and academics in the Northern and Southern Mediterranean to influence the vision and policies in the region.
The second session of “Majalat Forum” aimed to deepen the study of recommendations set during the 2019 round activities, and to identify potential implementation pathways through a collaboration between civil society organizations and the European Union.
The discussion covered five topics: Good Governance and Rule of Law, Security and Counter-Terrorism, Immigration, Economic Development and Social Dialogue, Climate and Social Justice. After two days of in-depth discussions, a presentation was conducted to present recommendations and follow-up mechanisms between the various parties.
