With the support of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network, KADEM, the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the Danish Institute against Torture, and Friedrich Ebert Tunisia, the “First Regional Forum of Independent Public bodies” was organized with the presence of its entire heads, forming the Association of Independent Public bodies on Thursday, February 14, 2019, in Tozeur.
The meeting brought together nearly 300 participants, representatives of regional authorities, political parties and civil society organizations from the governorates of Tozeur, Gafsa and Kebili, In fact, this regional forum comes as an implementation of the recommendations emanating from the first annual forum of the Association of Independent Public bodies held in Hammamet. Actually, this meeting was a great opportunity to introduce these bodies in the internal areas of the country, to present their missions, their achievements and challenges met with CSOs. Added to that, to discuss and to search for ways to develop programs for coordination and networking with local CSOs. The meeting was also an occasion to participate in the meeting organized by the Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA) conducted in the governorate of Kebili on the International Day of the Radio, held on Friday and Saturday February 16, 2019 in Kebili.
