Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized a training workshop on human rights governance, “Public Human Rights Structures” for community radio, on March 9-10, 2019 in Bel Azur hotel in Hammamet. The session brought together 14 participants representing a number of community radio stations from different regions of the country along with a representative of the higher committee on Human Rights and fundamental freedoms (CSDHLF). Mr. Wahid Ferchichi, an expert in human rights, moderated the session.
The training session was a great opportunity for participants to learn more about public human rights bodies in Tunisia, their role, and their composition. In fact, this training was part of a series of trainings organized by KADEM with the support of its partners; mainly the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network, the Danish Institute for Human Rights and Dignity the Danish Institute against Torture. It aimed at enhancing the work of independent public bodies, in implementing recommendations emanating from previous meetings between independent public bodies and civil society organizations, and in supporting community radios’ capacities.
At the end of this workshop session, the participants obtained certificates of participation.
