Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center organized, jointly with the Ministry of Relations with Constitutional Bodies and Civil Society, a second workshop on “Completing the drafting of a new fundamental law bill about audiovisual communication and the Audiovisual Commission” on 12 and 13, January 2020 in Tunis.
Ms. Sana Bouzouech, Chief of Cabinet of the Minister in charge of relations with constitutional bodies and civil society, and Mr. Amine Ghali, Director of the Center, opened the workshop attended by representatives of the ministries and relevant agencies, experts who contributed to the drafting of the bill and representatives of the current HAICA.
During the workshop, a discussion was held on the unresolved problems that occurred during the synthetic workshop, the governance of the audiovisual communication enterprises and an overall reading of the bill and the explanatory document.
The workshop was an important opportunity to converge views between the different services relevant to the independent public bodies in order to come up with a unified vision and to complete the drafting of the new fundamental law bill on freedom of audiovisual communication and the structure of the Audiovisual Commission. The bill will be submitted to the Head of Government then to the House of Representatives.
Within the same framework, the center supports the ministry’s efforts in relation to the work of the independent bodies, particularly the legal and regulatory aspects.
